2 oz. butter
1 red cabbage
2 tablespoon syrup
2 peeled and sliced apples
1 chopped onion
Juice of lemon
¼ pint red wine (or diluted red wine vinegar)
Salt
Melt the butter in a pan and add the shredded cabbage and the syrup; sauté over a low flame, stirring constantly. Add the remaining ingredients, cover the pan and simmer gently for 1½ - 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Season to taste.
