1 - 1½ lb potatoes
½ pint milk
1 oz. butter
Seasoning
Cut the potatoes in thin slices and arrange overlapping in a well-buttered, fireproof dish. Season between layers with salt and freshly-ground black pepper, pour over the milk and cover with the remaining butter cut into small pieces. Bake in a moderately hot oven (380°F - 400°F) for about 50-60 minutes.
